Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and

sorrow come and go like the wind. To be

happy, rest like a great tree in the midst of

them all.

  1. oh, the past few days, I’ve been trying so hard at this…ah, those reactions….today, I even went to an all day “loving kindness” day at Spirit Rock…and spent the day with a mind bouncing around amidst “loving kindness wishes” and then darting out into those “8 worldly winds” …guess I’ll go back tomorrow too… odd how one can make so much progress and then….boom…ego reacts unexpectedly and back to reactions…maybe tomorrow, I’ll imagine being a great tree amidst all of that…. a tree with deep roots and a strong trunk!
