our home in Oregon was renovated several years ago. the main living area has chartreuse venetian plaster walls with dark grey green concrete floors.
the bedroom was white with grey bedding. boring. i find, as much as i appreciate minimalist decor, it never seems to work in my head, or in my own home.
so here are pictures of how it’s been transformed over the past few months, since i’ve been here full-time. lots and lots and lots of color. yah!
aqua walls with mandalas painted in darker shade. a nine piece painting from my oldest daughter, which i mounted on plywood, an antique Buddha head and Ganesh head. a great wall collage to sleep under each night. bed cover is another collage of cotton fabrics in shades of aqua, greens and yellows. the painting to the right of the bed is by siobhan mcclure and greg rose.
same wall from different angle.
these are a very large pair of curtains between the bedroom and living room sliding glass doors. made from batiks my kids and i made years ago, beautiful hand printed tea towels, old embroidered throw pillows, and fabric that i’ve collected. they’re pieced together somewhat like a quilt and i love them because they have all my favorite colors!
