yes, i admit it. along with thousands of other sci-fi junkies, i have joined the not so exclusive group of BSG admirers. i’m hooked. i dream about it, live in it, and even meditate in their fantastical world.
i contemplate their dilemmas and trials, see more clearly that all lifes situations are in shades of grey, not black and white and appreciate the characters who are courageous and living in truth.
it’s a spectacularly created reality that deals with all of the political and moral issues of today, tomorrow and yesterday, encapsulated in four seasons and taking place on space ships in outer space.
there are times i mumble my disgust or dismay at the ridiculous choices of a favorite character, only to find that, eventually, they come to their senses. i do this in real life with the people i love. and i see how potentially harmful that can be for their growth. to love each other means just that – love them no matter what the circumstances.
that love without rules and requirements seems to be one of the reasons why these characters are so endearing, so lasting in my thoughts and dreams. there is always someone in anothers business setting them straight. and that person listens. most of the time, like real life.
if you’re a sci-fi fan like me, you’ve most likely already watched every single episode. if not, check it out. but don’t lose your job over it, like these bozos. . .
