Just Because We Can, Should We?

Cacao Chocolatelately i’ve been asking myself this question – just because i can, should i? this question not only is fitting in a consumerist capacity, but in just about every daily experience.

  • just because each time i practice yoga i feel elevated and a little closer to the universal One, doesn’t mean i should spend every waking hour on my mat.
  • just because i know the value of antique ceramic foo dogs and how intricately detailed they are and how they don’t make them like that anymore, doesn’t mean i have to own them.
  • just because i think i know how someone could feel better about their life situation, doesn’t mean i should share my unsolicited thoughts or suggestions with them.
  • just because my assumptions feel right about a given situation, doesn’t make them so.
  • just because i feel healthier and lighter as a vegetarian, doesn’t mean i should require others to concede to my lifestyle.
  • just because i can see through a chaotic space and organize with zeal, doesn’t mean i should anticipate nor expect that from others.
  • just because i love dark chocolate, doesn’t mean i should forgo all other ingestables.
  • just because i could easily spend weeks reading scifi, should i?

just because i can, should i?
